High Protein Black Bean Dip Recipe for Hormonal Acne (Dairy Free & Gluten Free)

the pure life

SHARE

This high protein black bean dip is perfect for a protein-rich snack that’s also dairy free and gluten free.

Benefits of black bean dip:

  • High in fibre to feed beneficial gut bacteria and provide “fuel” for a healthy microbiome, healthy bowel movements and detoxification of hormones, toxins and pesticides
  • High in plant based protein to support balanced blood sugar to avoid cravings and breakouts
  • Rich in minerals like iron, calcium and zinc – all crucial in maintaining healthy hormone balance and fighting acne

Best ways to enjoy this recipe:

  • With chips or crackers as an appetizer
  • Add a scoop to tacos, burritos or Mexican-style bowls (I love it paired with shrimp tacos!)
  • Use as a base spread for sandwiches or wraps
  • Add a scoop to this Anti-Inflammatory Breakfast Burrito Bowl (my go-to!)

High Protein Black Bean Dip

Having trouble digesting beans?

It might be a gut issue! Try working on reducing inflammation in your gut and eat slowly & mindfully prior to incorporating a small amount (1-2 tbsp) of beans daily to build your tolerance to the fiber.

I recommend sipping on my cult-fav Gut Health Tonic from The Acne Protocol for 3-6 months if food intolerances or sensitivities are showing up for you.
