This is the routine I followed leading up to my wedding for clear skin…
Chances are, if you’re reading this newsletter, you’re here for the clear skin tips. Is that you? You’ve come to the right place for all things clearing acne and getting that glow.
Whether you’re a bride-to-be or not, I think you’re going to love this week’s newsletter.
Last week I shared all about the diet I followed for my big day, and today we are breaking down all the lifestyle habits & routines I followed as an acne-prone bride!
Here are habits I included leading up to my wedding:
1. Daily movement: for 3 months leading up to my wedding, I focused on:
- 5-10k steps daily (usually via a morning 1-hour walk or post-dinner walk with my husband)
- Pilates (a mix of mat and reformer) 3x per week
- Weight lifting 1-2x per week (one push and one pull day)
- Hot yoga or sauna 1-2x per week for detox support
2. Skincare routine: to keep breakouts at bay, I used the following skincare products. This combo worked so well at preventing breakouts (if you’re new here, I’m currently detoxing from mould + heavy metal exposure and breakouts were one of the symptoms):
- Activist manuka honey mask daily for 30 mins
- Amperna cleanser
- Amperna serum
- Amperna moisturizer
- A few drops of Pai rosehip or The Ordinary squalane oil for extra hydration in colder months (Canada)
- Amperna HOCL spray: as needed in humid environments (I got married in Australia) and before/after a workout or sauna
- Acne-safe self tanner (gave me the best glow)
3. Skincare devices: I usually get regular monthly facials at Formula Fig (in Vancouver), but have to take my facials with me when am in Sydney (I live between Canada and Australia). Here’s what I do instead:
- Red light therapy mask every other night for 10 mins (I use the CLEAR mask)
- Ice rolling – daily for 5 mins (first thing in AM before my manuka honey mask)
- Gua sha – daily for 5 mins – this is my routine
4. I chilled the F out:
I made nervous system regulation a massive priority for the month leading up to my wedding. This included:
- 9 hour sleeps
- Daily 30-60 min. walks
- Reading before bed
- NO stressful TV shows/movies
- Avoiding alcohol (basically completely cut it out)
- Monthly massage
- Cutting back on work/taking time off
- Doing less in general and not feeling guilty for it
