Healthy Mallorca Guide

the pure life

SHARE

After years of visiting family on the island and countless requests, I think it’s about time I write up a Healthy Mallorca Guide! Below is a collection of some of my favourite restaurants, beaches and things to do. When I visit Mallorca, I have the luxury of cooking most meals at home and living like a local, which is why I like to keep it simple with surf days and lounging on the beach, but I hope some of these tips can inspire you to travel healthy!

Don’t forget to check out my post on How to Eat Healthy While Travelling and My Flying Rituals as well.

Happy Travels!

Restaurants

If you’re looking for healthy food, there’s no lack of it on the island. Whether you want fresh local Spanish paella and olives or if you’re craving a raw superfood salad and green smoothie, mallorca has it all. While there are hundreds of incredible restaurants in Mallorca, these are a few that I’ve loved in the past.

Ziva To Go – my fav raw vegan health cafe with 3 locations – the best spot for healthy food! I love their salads, smoothies, raw desserts and adaptogenic lattes.

Bon Lloc – a healthy plant-based restaurant with an incredible menu ranging from beet ravioli to gnocchi, veggie burgers and house made dairy-free ricotta. Perfect for a date night.

Simply Delicious by Ronen – this is SOUL FOOD! Ronen quickly became a family friend after opening this gem of a restaurant – he cooks all the food with love, and lots of it. I recommend the Falafel Salad or Hummus/Shakshuka Plates, and the mint lemonade is a must. Treat yourself to a house-made baklava!

MyMuyBuenno – healthy fast food, deli style all vegan cafe with hearty and refreshing options like build your own bowls, matcha lattes and bliss balls. Perfect for an on-the-go lunch in between city shopping.

Mercat de Santa Catalina – my favourite market for fresh fruits and vegetables and locally caught seafood. Look for the Bio corner with organic produce.

Fibonacci – the Starbucks of mallorca. This chain organic cafe has the best ready to go almond milk frapaccino, fresh baked bread and healthy salad and juice options.

Santina – a hip cafe that offers a wide selection of GF and Vegan options. The smoothie bowls are Insta-worthy and they can help you get your avocado toast fix ASAP.

Portixol – I recommend renting a bike in Santa Catalina and exploring this area at sunset. Pop into one of the many snazzy restaurants for a drink and appies.

Restaurants I’ve heard wonderful things about but haven’t been to yet myself:

– Villa Vegana at Finca Son Olive

– Temple Natura

Beaches

Calla Contessa is my favourite beach closest to the city. I love swimming around the little island and then having a snack at the cafe in the back. Also a great spot for a paddle board. This beach (and the surrounding beaches at Illetes) can get super busy during tourist season, so make sure to head there early!

Son Serra de Marina is my favourite surfing beach (when the waves are good!). It’s surrounded by beautiful sand dunes in a less-populated area of the island. This beach gets a little more windy and has a cute cafe called El Sol at the back, making it a relaxing place for a day trip.

Es Pontàs is absolutely breathtaking – known for its gorgeous arch and surrounding beaches, this is definitely worth the day trip. This is a great place to swim in the deep turquoise water and hang out on the rocks.

Sant Elm is a quiet fishing village on the island which I loved swimming at. Nestle a quiet spot on the rocks and swim in the calm waters before you grab a refreshing gelato nearby.

Things to do

Yoga – there is an abundance of yoga studios on the island, so you have your pick from traditional Yoga to Pilates-based or even some of the best kundalini in the world! I’ve been to ZunRay studio and loved it – it’s nestled in the heart of the old town in Palma in a beautiful old alleyway. Interesting and challenging classes for all levels of yogis.

Sa Foradada – this place is STUNNING! I highly recommend doing a boat tour here and have lunch at the infamous Paella restaurant at the top of the cliff after a snorkel in the cove. Boat access only.

Hike Galatzo – if you can find a local to take you to the Galatzo Hike, it’s a gorgeous way to wake up with the sunrise giving you 360 degree views of the island – you can even see across to Ibiza!

Rock Climbing and Water Soloing Adventures – this is on my Mallorca bucket list, but I’ve heard amazing things about the adventure tours on the island!

Deia – one of my favourite parts of the island, Deia is nestled up high on a winding hill, with shops and houses lined from top to bottom. Head down to the cove at the bottom (15 min walk from the parking lot) for a breathtaking swim and a snack at the beachfront restaurant. Bring a good book and soak up all the goodness this place has to offer. In the summers, you can also find a sunset DJ in Deia at a bar just off the main road – this is a MUST!

Mallorca Startups – if you’re a start up business and want to connect with other like-minded people on your travels, I definitely recommend attending one of these sessions. Hear from successful expats and mingle with other entrepreneurs.

I hope you feel inspired to enjoy Mallorca as much as I have over the years.

With love,

Sisley
