This really is the easiest (and most delicious!) smoothie bowl. You may be wondering “what the heck is a smoothie bowl?” or “isn’t it just a smoothie? In a bowl?” The answer is, yes, we tricked you. BUT, there’s something so incredibly satisfying about eating your smoothie with a spoon with beautiful crunchy, fruity, yummy toppings sprinkled on top. The best thing about smoothie bowls is that you get to be a little creative with your breakfast, and it’s always good to get those creative juices flowing right!? I’m glad we agree.
It has been a really nice week over here in Berlin. It snowed a few times which I just love. Who wouldn’t love this view from their window? So despite the fact that I woke up to this, I felt super warm and cosy in my apartment and decided that I was really craving a good old smoothie bowl. I enjoyed the smoothie bowl curled up on the couch with a Nicholas Sparks novel and a cup of Chai tea. Ahh, winter!
Smoothie bowls come in every colour! Pink, green, purple, yellow – you name it, you can make it. They are also a great thing to make for a brunch or a sunday morning-breakfast curled up on the couch-kinda day. I chose pink for you all today because who doesn’t love pink? Plus the raspberries are so perfectly tart when they mix with the bananas that your taste buds will explode with happiness. I chose the toppings that I had in my kitchen, which seemed to pair pretty awesomely: coconut chips, chia seeds, sliced banana and kiwi! I also added some homemade cacao granola on the end which really hit the spot. This is such an easy breakfast to enjoy and digest without feeling sluggish, but instead it leaves you feeling super energized and with a happy tummy full of delicious foods! The bananas are a great source of potassium and are a great healthy carb to eat in the mornings, the raspberries add some antioxidant properties which is also great, the coconut and the chia seeds provide some healthy fats (necessary for our bodies to function properly) and the kiwi is just a fun little touch (but also packs in some Vitamin C-woohoo!). I really suggest adding the yoghurt because it really makes this smoothie bowl oh, so creamy and divine!
Note: if you want to top it off with some granola, which I highly recommend doing, I would definitely use this one, it pairs perfectly together!
That pink swirl though… #foodart
